Original watercolor and ink painting of a mushroom on handmade textured cotton rag paper by Papeterie Saint-Armand. Approximately 4" x 5" with a deckled edge for a natural aesthetic.
Witches Hat (Hygrocybe conica) has a smooth, sometimes moist, yellow to orange or red cap and white to pale yellow gills. When this mushroom ages, it becomes duller and grayer with age until it's entirely black. The illustration is based on a specimen found in Colorado.
